He was predeceased by: his brother Jimmy Painter; his father Norm Peterson; his grandparents, George and Josie Morgan; his uncle Glenn; his aunts, Kathleen Morgan and Joan Morgan; and his cousin Kelly Beaty.

He is survived by: his wife Lacey Peterson; his son Peyton Peterson; his mother Joys Morgan Peterson; his brother Briggs Hatley; his aunt Loreda Morgan Vest; his cousins, Linda, Greg Beaty and Sammy Morgan (Pam); his parents-in-law, George McGill (Caroline) and Kathleen McGill; his brother-in-law Art McGill (Renee); his nephews, Alex McGill Bozeman and Connor McGill; his niece Cadence McGill; and his close friends, Monica Woods and Ross Wetzel. He is also survived by numerous other uncles, aunts, relatives and friends.
