He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Emma King; his children, William Cox (Patrice Daye), Katosha Richardson, Marvin King, Jerome Wilson and Dwayne Godwin; his sisters-in-law, Christine Roundtree, Linda Marable and Joan Knight; his siblings, Dorothy Dupree, Janet Dupree, Deborah Gordan and John Dupree, Jr.; his close friends, Otis, William and Tyrone; his parents, Christine Meriwether and Tommy Lee Bell; his stepfather John C. Dupree; and his siblings, Josephine Dell, Dorothy Ann Love and Grady Lee King. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, fourteen nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews.
