With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Prater (Wedowee, Alabama), who passed away on January 16, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, W. L. Ayres and Jessie Ayres; her husband Roger Prater; and her siblings, Pat Ayres, Mary Williams, Carolyn Wright and Polly Ward.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tammy Nolen (Ray) and Misty Pointer (Lee); her grandchildren, Megan Chandler (Michael), Blake Pointer (Amberly), Mason Nolen (Miranda) and Landon Pointer (Bre); her great grandchildren, Emerson Pointer, Ryleigh Chandler, Ezra Pointer and Averie Pointer; and her sisters, Betty Murphy and Linda Crosson (Robert).
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Benefied Funeral Home (17624 US-431, Wedowee, AL 36278). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Benefied Funeral Chapel (17624 US-431, Wedowee, AL 36278).
