He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellison Gross and Essie Kirby Gross; and his siblings, Blake, Joe Gross and Nancy Cummings.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Sudduth Gross; his children, Luanne Stone (Anthony), Robbie Neely (Calvin) and John Gross; his grandchildren, Caleb, Jonah Schafner, Heath (Heather), Chase Daniel and Candace Gross; his great grandchild Ellis Daniel; and his siblings, Sollye Sikes, Jack and Sam Gross. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
