She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Houston and Mae Tom Williams Houston; her brothers, Leon Houston, William Houston, Martin Houston and James Houston; and her niece LaShonda Houston.

She is survived by: her sons, Nicholas Lawson of Carrollton, GA and Jeffrey Lawson of Wedowee; and her sisters, Ethel Houston of Anniston, Tressie Ware of Roanoke, Joann Stone of Wedowee, Beverly Bailey of Wedowee and Alice Berry (Sandy) of Phenix City. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
