He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert O. Messer, Sr. and Sarah Fetner Messer; his granddaughter Alexus Holloway; and his brother Stephen Glenn Messer. He is survived by: his children, Carrie Holloway (Jerome) of Huntsville, AL, Adam Messer of Wedowee and Robert O. Messer, III of Bowling Green, KY; and his sister Denise Thompson (Phil) of Wedowee. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
