It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Johnson Buie of Webb, Alabama, born in Houston, Alabama, who passed away on March 26, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her son Frank Giles Buie, Jr.; and her great grandchild Sophie Zimmerman. She is survived by: her husband Frank G. Buie; her daughters, Tonja Summerlin, Sonja Sanders (Grevlyn) and Nila Johnson (Danny); her grandchildren, Chad Green (Brandi), Nick Green (Amy), Tiffany Button (Jason), Bethany Wood (Darrell), Marcey Zimmerman (Shawn) and Hunter Johnson (Karie); and her sister Jane Fowler (Jack). She is also survived by her 17 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Faith Christian Missions, Inc. Born on October 16, 1933 in Houston County to Gordon and Theda Brown Johnson, Mrs. Buie has lived in this area all of her life.
