He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Paul Temple, Sr. and Martha Love Temple. He is survived by: his children, Jason Temple and Heather Smith; his sisters, Sue Johnson, Charlotte Smith, Ocie Mercer (Danny), Jane Temple and Linda Williams; his grandchildren, Skyler Mitchell (Raleigh), Kenslie Mitchell, Jaelyn Temple, Annah Smith, Jamison Smith and Jake Temple; his great grandchild Lylah Mitchell; and his close friend Stan Dawsey. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
