He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Annie Thompson of Weaver; his children, Kathy Thompson Henley (Jeffrey) of Denver, NC, Tracy Thompson Patton (Brian) of Altoona and Richard Lee Thompson, Jr. (Samantha) of Grove Oak; his grandchildren, Jonothan Gatton, Jordan Ashe (Richie), Marcus Henley, Angelia Walls (Damian), Skylar Ray of Weaver, Summer Doran (Eric) of Altoona, Michael Patton of Altoona, Keith Patton of Altoona, Shane Thompson, Trent Carruth of Grove Oak and Jacob Carruth of Grove Oak; his great grandchildren, Willow Ashe, Noah Walls, Hayden Walls, Finley Walls, Hadleigh Ray, Elizabeth Rose Doran, Bailey Doran and Chase Doran; his brother Tommy Thompson (Pat) of Radcliff, KY; and his close friends, Lovel and Hoa Nifong of Weaver. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
