John E Fischer Obituary

A Memorial Service for SFC John Earl Fischer, US Army (Ret), 72, of Weaver, will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

SFC Fischer passed away August 22, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

SFC Fischer retired from the United States Army after a 21-year career. During his enlistments he was awarded Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Air Assault Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal w/3 oak leaf clusters (4 th award), Army Good Conduct Medal w/ silver rope and 1 loop (6 th award), National Defense Service Medal w/ 1 bronze service star, Vietnam Service Medal w/ 2 bronze service stars, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3 rd award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (2 nd award), Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device (1960-), Vietnam Gallantry Cross (unit), and Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, amongst many other accolades.

SFC Fischer is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol Lewis Fischer; daughters, Carolyn Walker and Christina Davidson; sons, Christopher (Jessica) Fischer and Jonathan Fischer; grandchildren, Dylan, Noah, and Chloe Walker, Tyler, Kaitlyn, and Lindsey Davidson, Mckenzie, Savannah, Grayson, and Harper Fischer; and Theo Zareski; sisters, Lorraine (Lucky) Luckman and Sandy Fischer; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; and beloved dog, Jenny Fischer.

SFC Fischer was preceded by his parents, Gustave Charles Fischer and Genevieve Jando Fischer, and a brother, James Allen Fischer.
