He is survived by: his wife Rita Nelson of Weaver; his daughter Retha "Lulu" Higgins (Lee) of Heflin; his grandchildren, Madison "Munchin" Higgins of Heflin and Brody "Chief" Higgins of Heflin; and his siblings, Delores Underwood of Pell City, Nancy White of Wellington and Adrian Nelson of Anniston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
