He was predeceased by: his wife Bernice; his parents, Homer Dowdy and Ada Dowdy; his daughter Susan Davenport; and his siblings, G. W. Dowdy, Charles Dowdy and Augusta Schifano.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Dowdy (Sandy), David Dowdy (Mandy) and Sharon Spillers (Jeff); his grandchildren, Jeremy Dowdy (Emily), Jamie Davenport, Shane Davenport, Brittney Dowdy (Jason), Casey Snell (Matt), Morgan Grisham (Jeremy), Kristin Roberson (Drake) and Tanner Dowdy; his great grandchildren, Anna Claire Dowdy, Sara Michael Dowdy, Kilee Dowdy and Brody Grisham; and his sister Lois McCormick.
