He was predeceased by: his parents, Bryce Martin and Effie Mae Garner; his grandmother Cordelia Reeves; his siblings, Sally Ann, Rosie Garner and Gerald Garner; and his grandchildren, Bethany and Benjamin Garner.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Joyce "Jody" Garner; his children, Shelia Diane Sharp (Jeff), Carolyn Wiley, Thomas Garner, Jr. (Amy) and Alicia "Lisa" George (John); his son-in-law Michael George; his siblings, John, Jackie Garner, Mary Honeycutt (Ron), Julie Zills (Bob) and Linda Bostick (Lewis); his grandchildren, Amy Sharp, Amanda Price (Matt), Ashley Morris (Josh), Jessica Abbot (Colin), Shalina Thornley (Travis), Ricky Wiley (Becky), Matthew Wiley, Kaitlyn, Caylee Garner, Dalton, Malicia, Dawson and Dacota George (Harlee); and his close friends, Brenda Bell and Adiana Parsons. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
