She was predeceased by: her parents, Lola Shipp and Clyde Shipp; her husband Roy Nelson McPherson; her daughter Linda Fowler; and her siblings, Melvin "Buddy" Shipp, Mildred Haywood, Florence Sanders and Edna Mims.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Lowe (Garey), O'Neil (Sandy) and Phillip (Tracy). She is also survived by several grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members and friends.
