Though Mattye Young may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mattye Young touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband Andrew Terrell; her son Kenneth; and her siblings, Mary James (Robert), John A. Young (Lovonia), Florine Ezell (Jessie) and Joe C. Young (Molendy).
She is survived by: her nephew Rev. Samuel Ezell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Weatherly Chapel (1575 4th Ave, York, AL 36925). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Weatherly Funeral Home Chapel (1575 4th Ave, York, AL 36925).
