He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Carl Welsh and Sara Bob Liles Welsh. He is survived by: his wife Jean Welsh of Wadley; his daughter Caryl Smith (Will) of Daviston; his grandsons, Tim Estes (Jasmine) of Phenix City, Justin Estes (Chelsea) of Daviston and David Estes (Shannon) of Carrollton, GA; his great grandchildren, Lula Estes, Piper Menck, Raylee Estes, Parker Estes, Josie Estes, Evan Estes and Silas Estes; his great great grandchild Oaklynn Phillips; his siblings, Joan Welsh Miller (Steve) of Sylacauga and Phillip Joel Welsh (Donna) of Wadley; his sisters-in-law, Joan Bishop of Wadley, Shirley Rainwater of Kellyton and Mitzi Moran (Johnny) of Dadeville; his caregiver Ashley Jordan; and also Emmie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
