He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Jackson and Millie Jane McDonald Melton; and his siblings, Rose Craven, Linda Boyd, Georgeann Wood, Donald Melton and J. V. "Smiley" Melton.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Melton of Wadley; his children, Tiffany Canaan (Cheney) of Kansas, Scotty Davis of Prague, OK and Shane Davis of Auburn, AL; and his siblings, Retha Cox of Turian, KS, Sylvia Herren of Woodland, Janet Smith of Wedowee, Fred Melton of Valley, Larry Melton of Roanoke and Bruce Melton of El Paso, TX.. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
