He was predeceased by: his daughter Denise Buendett Drake; his daughter-in-law Amy Drake; his parents, Martin Drake and Dessie Drake; and his siblings, Johnnie Blanche Buckelew and Harvey Drake.

He is survived by: his wife Brenda Smith Drake; his children, Jackie Drake Cadle (Mike), Jimmy Drake Jr. and Chris Drake; and his siblings, Maxine Drake, Teresa Morgan, Dinah Horner, Moye, Joe Neal, Larry, Ronnie and Jeffery Drake.
