He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddieth Carl Hale and Lillie White Hale; his brothers, Wilburn, Leonard and Huel Hale; his daughter-in-law Karen Joy Hale; and his wife Willodean Wilhite Hale.

He is survived by: his children, Donna Aaron (Roy), Melinda James (Billy) and Ronnie Hale; his brother Charles Hale (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, Haley Aaron, Kayla Aaron, Kevin Aaron and Brooke James.
