He was predeceased by: his grandparents, E. T. Butler, Reba Butler, Buford Miller and Costella Miller. He is survived by: his parents, James Daniel Butler and Wanda Jean Miller Butler; his wife Heather Butler; his children, Tylyr James Butler (Brittney Nicole), Kyle Turner Butler (Casidy), Nathan Raif Butler and Brianna Nicole Davis (Austin); his stepchildren, Tyler Smith and Nicole West; his sister Lisa Hill (James); and his grandchildren, Lola Rae Davis, Adalyn Mae Butler, Ender Smith, Wynston Smith and Arlee West. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, family and friends.
