She was predeceased by: her daughter Rhonda Martin; and her parents, John Ellington and Catherine Ellington. She is survived by: her husband Charles Newman; her children, Erin Phipps (James) and Lacey Guy (Sam); her grandchildren, Christian Phipps, Corey Flowers (Tyler) and Elizabeth Hall; and her great grandchildren, Everhett Flowers and Samuel Guy Jr.. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Epworth Methodist Church (6796 Vinegar Bnd Rd, Vinegar Bend, AL 36584).
