Joyce Champion Elliott Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Champion Elliott of Vestavia, Alabama, who passed away on September 3, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Champion and Ruth Champion Frost; her siblings, Jimmie Nell McMahon, Dorothy Guin, Robert Champion and Linda Evans; and also Oscar Frost.
She is survived by: her daughter Kellye Howton; her grandson Zach Howton (Mallory); her siblings, Marie Scimemi, Wayne Champion, Judy Mueller (Ron), Sharon Younghance (M. C.), Tommy Champion (Karen), Vicki Lawley, Debbi Moses (Fred), Ricky Champion (Sylvia), Danny Champion (Shari) and Tracey Strickland (Scott); and her pet Scarlett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home (3659 AL-171, Fayette, AL 35555). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (Endometrial Cancer).
