He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Wortham Shaw; and his son Guy Bruce Shaw. He is survived by: his sons, Steven Randall Shaw, Christopher Joel Shaw and Kevin Michael Shaw; his grandchildren, Kimberly Lynn Shaw, Lisa Shaw Tillery, Thomas William Shaw, Holly Ann Shaw, Elisabeth Bilek, Christopher Joel Shaw, Jr., Katharine Paule Shaw and Kristian Marchand Shaw; and his great grandchildren, Braden Tyler Tillery, Ethan Parker Tillery, Ella Monroe Mccullough, Olivia Erin Shaw, Elijah Owen Shaw and Emelia Jean Bilek.
