He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Mayhall and Lucille Mayhall Gilbreath; his wife Irene Mae Gallups; his sister Mary Ann Kittle; and his grandson Brandon Maurer.

He is survived by: his children, Cindy Borge (Richard) of Plano, Becky Fremont (Doug) of Bristow, Virginia, Doug Mayhall (Monna) of Franklin and Tom Mayhall (Ann) of Hoover, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Carrie Braxton (Ryan), Richard Borge (Liz), Janna Veenstra (Nathan), Kimberly Swarner (Max), Kris Maurer, Lauren Allen (Matt), Thomas Fremont (Rebekah), Jackson Mayhall, Laura Hoover (Joey) and Michelle Mayhall. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
