He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabon Spruill Babb and Connie Wyatt Babb. He is survived by: his wife Pat Babb; his sons, Robert Babb (Gloria) and Russell Babb (Janna); his sister Glenda Bailey; his stepchildren, Chris Goodgame, Meg Gilpin (Matt) and Jeffrey Goodgame (Mary); his grandchildren, Karlyn Hale (Patrick), Wyatt, Elijah Babb, Ethan, Everett, Elana Babb, Madison Goodgame (Seth Diamond), Nicholas Goodgame, Emma and Lily Gilpin; his great grandchildren, Oren Hale and Wylie Diamond; and his siblings-in-law, Alden, Bruce Jacobus, Peggy, Clyde Giesenschlag, Rob and Nancy Foote.
Oren and Pat moved permanently to their Birmingham condo in 2019, during the COVID pandemic. After the pandemic subsided, Oren had time to get reacquainted with friends from his high school and college days and enjoy many celebratory meals with family.
