He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Gayle Hargroder Ermert. He is survived by: his father Gene Oliver Ermert of Athens, Alabama; his wife's daughters, Margaret Alice Ermert Mottern and Anne Lauren Ermert; his wife Lori Ann Gordon Ermert of Vestavia Hills; his daughter Alice Ermert Mottern; his son-in-law DJ; his daughter Anne Lauren Ermert of Vestavia Hills; and his siblings, Alisa Erickson of Athens and Bart Adams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Homewood Church of Christ Missions, 265 W. Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35209 and the Michael and Lori Ermert Endowed Scholarship at the University of Alabama School of Law.
