He was predeceased by: his mother Celia Davis; and his children, John B. Ballard, Jr. and Karen E. Ballard. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Ballard; his daughters, Lisa Eich and Carol Spink; his siblings, James Ballard and Jane Ballard; and his grandchildren, Katie Marie Woods, Ryan Spink, Alexandrea Spink and Ann Marie Eich.
