He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Oakes and Avelle Bailey; his wife Diane Oakes; and his siblings, John R Oakes and Juanita Isbell.
He is survived by: his sons, Shannon Oakes and Jeremy Isbell (Elizabeth); his grandson Jace Isbell; and his sister Martha Layed (Mop). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Vandiver Church of God (13479 Co Rd 43, Vandiver, AL 35176). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
