He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert E. Payton and Alice Louise Payton; and his siblings, Charlotte Sullivan, Jerry and Robert Payton.

He is survived by : his son Cody Payton; his daughter-in-law Hailee Payton; his grandchild Uriah Payton; and his siblings, Alice Brunner, Jimmy Duke and Alan Burnett. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
