We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2024, at the age of 75, Margaret Barnes Childs of Valley, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father James Emfinger. She is survived by: her mother Annie Emfinger; her husband Bill Childs; her children, Angie Moore (Craig) and Jeff Barnes; and her grandchildren, Cole and Beth Moore. She is also survived by her family, friends.

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that memorials be made in her memory to the Todd Congregational Christian Church.

“I was sadden when I heard that Margaret had been called to glory. Well sad for me, but happy for her. She was a wonderful, loving and patient cousin. I remember many wonderful times we had when we would come to Alabama to see everyone several times a year. Margaret taught me to play the piano which I continued and received a BFA in Piano at UNC-Chapel Hill. Angie and Jeff you are in my thoughts and prayers. Margaret's cousin Danny, son of Estelle Simmons and grandson of Henry C.Simmons.”
