With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Louise Gibson Lane of Valley, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 5, 2024 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her husband Charles H. Lane; her parents, Clayton Gibson, Sr. and Nettie Louise Dozier Gibson; her siblings, Mary Alice McCants, Jacob Gibson, Isaac Gibson and Clayton Gibson, Jr.; and her siblings-in-law, Elijah McCants and Sylvia Gibson.
She is survived by: her children, Reverend Edward Lane (Irene) of Salem, AL and Charlene Lane of Far Rockaway, NY; her grandchildren, Leonissa Lane of Salem, AL and Christen Lane of Huntsville, AL; her great grandchild Audrey Hamilton of Salem, AL; her brother Richard Gibson (Emma) of Valley, AL; her sister-in-law Pearlie Gibson of Valley, AL; and her cousin Mary Finch Phaire of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Stephens Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (2427 Columbus Rd, Valley, AL 36854). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
