She was predeceased by: her parents, JD Birdsong and Martha LeMerle Birdsong; her husband Alvie D. Hester; her granddaughter Allison Ward Hulgan; her brothers, Howard and George Birdsong; her daughter-in-law Margaret Hester; and her niece Alethea Stephens.
She is survived by: her sister Patricia Hudson (John); her children, Teresa Ward (Larry), Libby Shaddix (Tony) and Terry Hester (Cindy); her grandchildren, Amanda Bailey (Dusty), Crystal Cotton (Jason), Jonathan Hester (Misty), Sara Sands (Patrick) and Matthew Shaddix (Melissa); her great grandchildren, Peyton Bailey, Will Bailey, Jackson Maddox, Cam Cotton, Chloe Cotton, Jordan Hester (Miranda), Emily Sands, Ryan Sands and Benjamin Shaddix; and her friend Phyllis Manley.
