He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Barkley and Ova Blankenship Barkley; his sister Elaine Gray; and his brothers-in-law, Roy McNutt and Robert Berry.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Bell Barkley; his daughter Annette; his son-in-law Alan Hughes; his son Richard; his daughter-in-law Donnis Barkley; his son Roy Barkley, III; his grandchildren, Travis Hughes, Blake, Anastasia Hughes, Sarah Barkley, Roy, Shannon Barkley, IV, Akela Barkley and Patrick Barkley; his great grandchild Avy Hughes; and his sisters, Brenda McNutt and Anita Berry. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 1700 4th Ave. S, Birmingham, AL, 35233.
