He was predeceased by: his son Gregory Lee; his parents, Floyd Edward and Gladys Wells Lee; his sister Charlotte Cox; and his son-in-law James K. Lanter MD.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Chadwick Lee; his children, Brigitte Lee Lanter and John David Lee; his grandchildren, Kathryn Workman (Jeremy), Paige Coleman (Eric), Victoria Lanter and Jessie Lee; his great grandchild Brock Workman; and his brothers, Leonard Lee (Elanor) and Jackie Lee (Sharon). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
