He was predeceased by: his son J. T. Gideon; his parents, J. T. Gideon and Beatrice Gideon; his great grandchild Joseph Gideon; and his siblings, Norma Cook, Sandra Viner, Mary Rice, David Gideon, Thomas Gideon, Arthur Rice, Charles Rice and James Rice.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Bethune (Clayton), Adam Gideon and Michael Gideon (Joy); his sister Judith Shular; and his grandchildren, Joshua Rogers, Delilah Gideon, Melody Tuberville, Connor Gideon and Nicole Dawson.
