She is survived by: her husband Purvis Smitherman; her children, Darla Smith, Robert Smitherman (Dara) and Thomas Smitherman (Candice); and her grandchildren, Justin McDonald, Josh McDonald, Lauren Smitherman, Ansley Smitherman, Katie Smitherman, Sean Smitherman, Sean Barrett and Taran Barrett. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
