It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Drake of Uniontown, Alabama, born in Selma, Alabama, who passed away on June 30, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, George Lee Compton and Ida Mae Martin Compton; her son Buddy; her husband Walton Avery Drake; her son Walton Avery Drake Jr. (Buddy); her brother William Lee Compton; her children, Beth Leigh Drake and William Earl Drake; her sister Claudia Belle Holloway; and her grandchildren, Leanah Blalock Lee (Thomas), Julian Tutwiler Blalock, Jr. (Mary Kathryn), Sarah Blalock Friday (Benjamin), Hannah Blalock Moses (JB), Brittany Nichole Drake and William Walton Drake (Frances). She was also cherished by her twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hopewell Baptist Church or the Perry County Historical Society.
