He was predeceased by: his parents, Ike Elder, Jr. and Phoebe Barnes; his sons, Billy Garrett and Michael Boswell; and his siblings, Clemmie Dotson, Cody Elder, Irie Elder, Benjamin Elder, Lilliam Dotson Hardy, Oral Lee Dotson McClaney, Ola V Elder Kemp, Lois Elder Kiser and Louise Elder Howard.
He is survived by: his children, Bernetta Jackson, Shirley Elder Rhodes, Debra Garrett, Dayton, Paris A Elder, Mack Elder, Kevin, Roderick Boswell Paris and Travis Wilson of Boston, MA; his great-nephew Harmon C. Elder; and his friend Arthur James Bristow.
