She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Gaines and Lola Gaines; her son Wesley Ward; and her brother Ricky Gaines. She is survived by: her son Kenneth "Sambo" Ward; her siblings, Sam Jackson (Dennis), Michael Gaines (Sherry) and Glen Gaines (Ann); her close friend Mark Johnson; her grandchildren, Bentley Ward, Caden Ward and Bruce Ward; and her daughter-in-law Keri Vaughn. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
