He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Slaten and Willie Bell Slaten; and his sister Evelyn Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Slaten; his children, Cathy Pemberton (Randy) and Randall Slaten (Susanne); and his grandsons, Brandon Mohler (Qian), Eric Pemberton (Trish), Zachary Slaten and Seth Slaten. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
