He was predeceased by: his parents, Ashby Benjamin and Mabel Randall Moon; his wife Alice Catherine Moon; his daughter Elizabeth Catherine Donehoo; and his granddaughter Katie Pynn.
He is survived by: his son John Randall Moon, Jr. (Ramona); his granddaughter Catherine Murry (Jeremy); and his great grandchildren, Abigail Murry, Aubrey Grace Murry, Alice Beth Pynn and Holland Pynn.
