He was predeceased by: his parents, Ford E. McCorkle (Bessie Alexander McCorkle) and Barbara E. McCorkle; his son Chris McCorkle; his brother Steve McCorkle; and his brothers-in-law, John Smelley and Richard Sharp.
He is survived by: his wife Marie McCorkle; his daughter Jo'el McCorkle Steger (Andy); his stepsons, Michael Montgomery (Meg) and Doug Montgomery (Lori); his siblings, Dalton E. McCorkle (Renee), Kaye Smelley and Phyllis Sharp; his granddaughter Rebecca M. Wasson; and his stepgrandchildren, Zoe Montgomery, Max Montgomery, Luke Montgomery (Holly), Landon Montgomery and Savannah Boyd (Tanner). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
