He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Midgett; his grandsons, Brandon and Cody; his siblings, Irene Holt, Roy Midgett and Thomas Midgett; and his parents, Claude Midgett and Ruby Midgett.
He is survived by: his daughter Robin Posey (Kevin Childers); his grandson Taylor Posey; and his sister Peggy Newman. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews.
