He was predeceased by: his parents, R. V. Suggs and Iona Suggs; his former wife Shirlene Smith Suggs; his brothers, Raymond, Don and Jimmy; and his daughter-in-law Rita Suggs.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Richardson Suggs; his sons, Jeff Suggs, Stuart Suggs (Stacy) and Scott Suggs (Selena); his stepchildren, Lynn Holt (Wayne), Greg Richardson (Angie) and Lance Richardson (Gina); and his grandchildren, Kayla Suggs, Karly Herring (Adam), Kaleb Suggs (Morgan), Spenser Suggs, Sydney Suggs, Carter Suggs, Carson Suggs, Leanne Roach (Chris), Bradley Gilbert (Anna) of Trey Richardson, M. D., Anna Cook (Charlie), Ben Richardson (Krysten) and Tabitha Hardwick (Joe). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UNA Foundation in the name of Jerry Suggs that will benefit students who have a hardship due to a terminally ill parent.
