He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Nichols and Dorothy Nichols; and his brother Steve Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Janet Cochran Nichols; his children, Kristy Van Rensselaer (Mike) and Craig Nichols; his stepson Doug Cochran; his brother Bryan Nichols; his grandchildren, Miranda Van Rensselaer, Alexander Van Rensselaer, Hannah Nichols, Kayleigh Nichols, April Nichols and Sam Nichols; and his stepgrandchildren, Madelyn Cochran and Wesley Cochran.
