He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, William Owen Barnes, Eulalie Turner Barnes of Memphis, TN, Miguel Rosello Bartomeu and Maria Tarrio Galvez of El Puerto; his wife Linda Davidson Barnes of Tuscaloosa, AL.; his parents, William Owen Barnes Jr. and Maria R Barnes of Tuscaloosa, AL.; his stepchildren, Deina Donaldson (Greg) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Scott Mellown of Lincoln, AL, Jason Mellown of Brookwood, AL and Andy Mellown of Tuscaloosa, AL.; and his sisters, Catherine Brooks (James McClurg) of San Diego, CA, Maria Jones (Chris) of Flowery Branch, GA and Angie Bufkin (Todd) of Haslet, TX.. He was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (733 James I Harrison Jr Pkwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405).
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Disabled American Veterans Organization or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor.
