She was predeceased by: her father J. W. Smelley; her sister-in-law Sharon Carruth; her parents-in-law, W. E. Carruth, Sr. and Marie Carruth; and her grandparents, J. C. and Ellen Porter.
She is survived by: her mother Ann Smelley of Fosters; her husband William Don Carruth (Donny); her children, Magen Carruth (John Laminack) of Tuscaloosa and William Don Carruth, Jr. (Olivia) of Cottondale; her sister Sandra Fowler (James) of Fosters; her siblings-in-law, W. E. Carruth, Jr. (Patricia) of Cottondale, Richard Carruth, Sr. of Cottondale, John Dee Carruth (Kim) of Tuscaloosa and Sherri Stone (David) of Duncanville; and her pet Mercalli. She is also survived by eight nieces; five nephews; nine great-nieces; nine great-nephews; many other cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
