He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Bridgers and Havylen Bridgers; his parents-in-law, Chris and Beverly Thaxton; and his sister-in-law Gail Thaxton Avery.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Thaxton Bridgers; his children, Stephen Bridgers (Wellon), Catherine Bridgers and Elizabeth Bridgers; his grandchildren, Emma, Fitz, Chloe, Robert, Nelia, Daniel, Leila and Mary Esther; his sisters, Jan Bridgers (Chris) and Linda Steadman (Joe); his cousin Chip Kea (Missy); and also Jason Avery (Abigail). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel (5434 Old Birmingham Hwy, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mwana Villages or Community Bible Study International.
