It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lee Jearl Wood (Tuscaloosa, Alabama), born in Crane Hill, Alabama, who passed away on March 13, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Wood and Arvie Wood; and his sister Frances Neal. He is survived by: his caregiver Joan Abrams Wood; his children, David Wood, Dannielle Hixson (Daniel), Bryan Wood (Sarah), Evan Wood (Sandra) and Shannon Taormina (Stuart); his grandchildren, Darren Strong, Stephanie Wood (Kallie), Justen Wood (Lauren Prescott), Courtney Wood (Hunter Watson), Tristen Wood, Jamie Hixson, Anna Wood, John Evan Wood (Abby), Ridge Wood (Kylie), AJ Alexander (Connor), Gabrielle James (Tommy Coode) and Isabella James; his great grandchildren, Jude Alexander, Maverick Coode and Alexander; his sisters, Denise Plaia and Xan Simmons; and his brother-in-law Jim Neal. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Duncanville Baptist Church Building Fund.
