He was predeceased by: his parents, C. A. McDaniel and Dorothy Jean Smith; his son Thurman Tate McDaniel; his siblings, Thomas McDaniel and Gayle Burkhalter; and his son-in-law Adam Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Fisher McDaniel; his daughters, Darlyce McDaniel Hester (Donald) of Moundville and Nikki McDaniel Cameron (Ronald) of Northport; his grandchildren, Kaylan Osmer (Cody), Kelsey Ray (Corey), Kegan Lee (Michaela), Dalton Cameron, Courtney Moorer (Morgan), David Hester (Magen), Seth Hester and Kristen Howard (Nevin); his sisters, Virginia Mullenix (James), Debbie Sanford (Donald), Cecile Waldrop (Ken) and Victoria Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Norman Burkhalter, Martha Hall and Jane Evans (Larry). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
